The church is surrounded on all sides by buildings and cannot be seen clearly from the High Street. If you find MacDonalds, The Bank House (Wetherspoons) or Boston Tea Party, then you should be able to find an alley leading to the church. From the other side, St. Matthew’s and the library are landmarks, with an entrance to the churchyard through Well Walk.
The entrance to the belfry is from the outside. The door is on the opposite side of the church to the main door, down a path to the right of a large memorial stone. Please be advised that the steps are steep and uneven.
